Books on Science (non-fiction) suggestions dump
#1
Apart from its promotion of freethought, one of Nirmukta's primary aims is the promotion of SCIENCE. Please share your favorite books on Science (NON-FICTION) in this thread, particularly (but not limited to) popular science books.

To start off i'd like to suggest some books on the fascinating organ - the human BRAIN and the numerous insights that have been got by neurological studies of patients with brain disorders arising from damage to the brain. My recommendations are

1. Oliver Sacks' books of neurological disorders including
- An Anthropologist on Mars http://www.oliversacks.com/books/anthrop...t-on-mars/ and
- The man who mistook his wife for a hat which are two of his best, IMO.

2. The acclaimed Indian neurologist V S Ramachandran's book Phantoms in the Brain.
