This is the first post here on Christianity. It seems that we have been letting it get off easy without much scrutiny. Although Christianity is a minority belief system in India (except in certain pockets of the country), it deserves attention because of its international influence. Christianity still remains the most delusional religion in the world in terms of sheer numbers, although Islam is fast catching up. How dangerous Christian beliefs are depends mostly on which part of the world we are talking about. For example, in Uganda Evangelical Christians influenced by Evangelical preachers from the US and locally have managed to create a Christian-backed push towards making homosexuality a crime punishable by death!

This is such a shame!

Back in the Bush days, funding for abortions in Africa was stopped because it wasn't in line with the Christian values. This impacted the fight against AIDS.

Christianity has historically resulted in more human suffering than any of the other religions. I'll defend that.

I agree with that, Ajita. Historically, it has been Christianity. Currently, it is Islam globally, and Hinduism in India.

I remember watching a video where these African Christian missionaries BURNED TO DEAD 3 elderly people on suspicion of being practicing witches/being involved in some sort of witchcraft. I literally saw 3 human beings being burned alive. I had never watched such a video before, and even though I consider myself a very hard person, I just stopped the video and bawled my eyes out. I couldn't believe what I saw. And I still can't believe that people think witchcraft is fucking REAL!
I want to rip things apart when people say Christianity is a peaceful religion. I can't imagine what horrors are taking place in Africa right this very minute.
And when people tell me to pray before exams, or pray for things, I always reply, "Why pray to God who would give you good grades but would forget Africa."
