Now that we've had successful meets in various cities (Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai) and more meets planned in other cities, I think it would be a good idea to have an online conference between people from all over the country to decide where to go from here.

Let us decide on how feasible this idea is. If feasible, when to have it and what should be the agenda. We got some nice momentum going on now and we can discuss on how to keep it going.

Please quote the minimum hardware requirements for such kind of a online video meet.

Skype can be used as an alternative.

It's a flash app. So you just need flash to be installed. If youtube works fine, this should also work fine.

Is this live? And if it is then it will need an input device for both audio and video.

Yes, it will be a live stream. A video device isn't necessarily needed. Ustream supports audio only broadcasts.

In the context of this conversation, here is an article that you may find useful. It is of a proposal that we came up with a year ago, right after our first online audio conference.


Our objectives have changed a bit since the proposal was written.

Sounds like a great idea. How long do you plan to have the conference? Do you mean a conference like a 1/2 day or 1 day conference? Or do you mean a tele-meeting for an hour or so?

I had thought of an hour or two long conf. Though depending on the agenda we can change it.
