Is the earth flat according to hinduism?

A bit of google-ing says the vedas indeed say the earth is flat. And some saying earth was always referred to as "bhugol" which means earth is a sphere. But some do say "bhu-gol" means round and not necessarily a sphere. A more common reference seems to be "bhu-mandal" or "bhu-lok".

Just watched a bit of this video:

The video does not fit the current scientific model obviously.

Any other insights are also welcome! Anything that the vedas say about the structure of cosmos or the structure of the atom or gravity or anything that was found out by modern science.

Of course, this does not have to be retrospective. Do they say anything about anything that the scientists are going to find out in the future?
