Jesus Freak: Creationfest

This is a documentary about a Christian rock festival in the US. Some of what goes on here is quite insightful, about how religions work, and how religious proselytism strategies cater to certain needs in people.

Hmm.. so the young people here dont really have much direction in life, and some of them seem lonely and listless and looking for some company..
1) the non-believer boy who says that he's no longer in touch with hisfriends , as they have all moved away
2) the boy who went to church but got bored because most of the folks around were older, and the preacher was just preaching stuff that one can anyway read up in books.
And somehow getting roped in to 'Jesus' is offering them that company.

Doesnt this battle then boil down to offering youngsters some direction (a.k.a purpose) in life early on? .. Which is what our education system is supposed to be doing in the first place :-) showing them the wonders of science, arts, etc
