Can somebody point me to some source that lists the standard fallacies, I mean the names and explanations.
I am new to this forum and sorry if this question has been already answered. Kindly point me to that answer then.

Don Lindsay's compilation is quite thorough, and we actually have listed them as our official facebook group guidelines as well. Recently I came across another resource that I have found extremely useful:

What I like about this resource is the way in which the author Gary N. Curtis, a philosopher who did his doctorate in logic, has categorized the logical fallacies. For instance, take a look at this taxonomy of logical fallacies, reminiscent of the cladistic phylogenetic tree used in evolutionary biology:
