Since we spoke about this I've looked at a couple of options.
This is a popular site: http://www.ustream.tv/
Here's another: http://www.justin.tv/

If anyone planing on attending this talk is interested, we can work together to make this happen!

Excellent!

The method for uploading the live streaming video is dependent on the recording setup that you have arranged. Is it possible to get some details about this? Most recent video cameras can be directly connected to a computer and used as the computer's camera, which can then stream the video online. But the setup has to be tested ahead of time and any software drivers needed must be installed.

Regarding bandwidth, usually about 100-150 kbps is sufficient, but higher bandwidths are preferred, especially for higher quality video. You can use http://www.speedtest.net to test the actual bandwidth speed of the connection.

We have created this channel for Nirmukta live video streams:
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nirmukta
The channel login info will be provided.

I think if we do this right we can get more than 1500 viewers from around the world to watch Meera Nanda talk on the 30th. We will give maximum publicity to the alloted time slot. As with other online broadcasting sites, ustream has a chat box where people can discuss the lecture while watching it.

Do we know if this lecture was delivered, and if so is the video available anywhere? I looked at their webpage a couple of times, but no updates there.

Here are links to readings which Dr. Nanda suggests early on in the talk:

The Ethics of Belief, William Clifford (1877) : A case for "Thou shalt inquire!" as a moral imperative

The Will to Believe, William James (1897) : A treatment of the question, "If inquiry is a moral duty, then what is the place of faith?"

Thanks for all the links guys. For a while, I have been wanting to watch lectures by 2 women thinkers Meera Nanda and Ophelia Benson, but couldnt find anything on the internet. (Just reading or listening to a distant voice fails to complete the connection for me). 1 down now, 1 to go.
