The Nuclear Liability Bill

I posted this on FB too. I don't know the details of the liability bill that is being tabled in the parliament now, but it does not yet allow for unlimited liability of foreign companies in case of accidents.

Greenpeace is pushing for it:

It would seem an obvious lesson to learn from the Bhopal gas tragedy. Why is the government not doing it? Is it afraid that companies will not come to setup plants here if this is the case? How are similar laws in other countries like China, Brazil, etc.?

This one is a recent article in the Indian Express. The gov wants to pass the bill with clauses like "intent to cause harm" needs to be proved before foreign operators can be prosecuted in case of accidents. Not good.
