1) Post some of your favourite atheist videos! Funny/serious/weird/scary/ridiculous or whatever. Anything goes!

2) Recommend channels! We all love more reasons to waste time on YouTube.

So lets go Heathens! Get posting.

Here are mine:
1)

I recommend both the above channels!

This is a great idea for a thread, and I enjoyed the two posted so far. I have so many favorite videos, but I'll post just two that I think best express my feelings (for the moment, at least).

My first one is by Tim Minchin. It's not about atheism, but it's statistically accurate! I've created a Tim Minchin thread here on the forums where we've posted some of his atheist/skeptical stuff: http://nirmukta.net/Thread-The-Music-and...im-Minchin

This song is also called the Statistically Accurate Love Song

My second pick (below) is about a subject that many atheists would disagree with on an ideological level- the notion of atheistic spirituality. I don't have a problem using the word "spiritual". I feel that there isn't another word in the English language that expresses certain powerful emotions; emotions that are a part of my being, but not representative of any objective reality (sort of like 'love' or 'awe'). There is nothing supernatural about these emotions. Maybe someday we will have completely naturalistic language for representing these emotions with just the level of conviction that they deserve, but until then I think we cannot let religion arrogate these aspects of our humanity.
Quote:I realize that many people do not feel these emotions, but please remember that there are many atheists who do. For the record, this is "spiritual" in the same sense that Einstein and Carl Sagan used the word.

I like it when he says 'the kind of person who says swearing is a sign of poor vocabulary has a poor vocabulary himself' not always true but still funny.

Next ones, a couple of Tom Lehrer's songs.

To start of, my favorite video is not exactly an "atheist" video, but something which definitely resonates with us all

I fucking love Stephen Fry. And Hugh Laurie for that matter. House MD gave him the publicity but his early stuff is what is most fun to watch. LOL at the Tom Lehrer vids. Never heard of him but his stuff is FUNNAY!

When that "I love the whole world" song first came out, I was SO in love with it. I would sing it when I was sober, when I was drunk, when I was in class, on the bus. And people NEVER got why I loved the song so much. It was that was really how I felt about the world, and how much I truly love it. Thanks for posting it and reminding my how much I love it.

Tim Minchin is the shit. I love his song "Storm". It's just something I would want to do myself! And even though I'm a closet romantic I love the video you posted.
